Preliminary task script.

When writing the script for my preliminary task, I took pains to ensure a sense of continuity was evident throughout:

Brad Kelsey (Police officer who is not on duty, as he is on leave after shooting a runway criminal) is in counselling trying to get over the ‘Trauma’. In the shot the is a couch facing towards the camera, and an armchair side on from the camera. There is a small wooden coffee table in the centre, with a jug of water, 1 glass and a mug of tea, which belongs to the councillor.

Characters:
o  Brad Kelsey: Michael Whitfield
o  Councillor: Belinda Whitfield

   (EXT.OUTSIDE OFFICE. DAY.)

    (Brad Kelsey)
    (push and open door)

    (INT.COUNCILLING ROOM. DAY.)

(Councillor)
“Are you ready to go back?”

(Brad Kelsey)
“Yes.”
(Pauses and nods)

(Councillor)
“Will you feel safe? Do you need a partner?”

(Brad Kelsey)
(BRAD pours water from jug into glass)
“Yes.”

(Councillor)
“‘Yes’ you’ll feel safe or ‘yes’ you need a partner?”

(Brad Kelsey)
(BRAD takes a long sip from the glass)
 “‘Yes’ I want a partner.”

(Councillor)
“So you wont feel safe on the job?”

(Brad Kelsey)
“I don’t know yet, there’s so much going on at the moment.”

(Councillor)
“Like what?”

(Brad Kelsey)
“Just like recovery, the baby and Sarah.”

(Councillor)
“Is Sarah your wife?”

(Brad Kelsey)
“Yes”

(Councillor)
“And have you and Sarah talked about the incident much?”

(Brad Kelsey)
“We haven’t spoken much about it.”

(Councillor)
“Why is that? Are you scared about discussing it with her?”

(Brad Kelsey)
“No, we just have had so much happening”

(Councillor)
“Okay Mr.Kelsey, we’ll just take a break there and meet again in 5 minutes.”

               END OF SCENE.
